This sculpture by Inmaculada Abarca pays tribute to all the Setabense citizens who were repressed after the Spanish Civil War. The sculpture aims to remember the over 80 people who fought and were executed for defending the democratic government of the Republic and its values.

In this artwork, we can see how life, represented by the tree trunks growing in the center, reaches upward while, around them, eight human faces protect it from its surroundings. These faces represent those who fought to protect the constitutional values of the Second Republic and were executed for defending its principles and ideals.

Nearby is the place known as the “Casa Blanca.” This space was the main scene of the mass executions carried out in Xàtiva.
